Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that originated in Brazil in the early 20th century. It is a grappling-based martial art that focuses on ground fighting, submission holds, and joint locks. Jiu Jitsu emphasizes the use of leverage, technique, and strategy to overcome larger and stronger opponents. Practitioners (also known as “grapplers”) use a combination of chokes, joint locks, and ground fighting techniques to submit their opponents.

Our kids classes are separated by age ranges 4-6, 7-13. If your child is 13+ they are welcome in the adult class; feel free to speak to a coach with any concerns.

WOMEN ONLY CLASSES:

This weekly women-only class, provides a safe environment for women to train BJJ. We understand combat sports can sometimes be intimidating, and this fundamental class offers jiu jitsu basics and beyond to encourage and empower women to train confidently in all our classes.

COMBATIVES:

This is a self-defense program which is often taught to Law Enforcement, Military, First Responders and now, civilians. This curriculum will teach you threat assessment and how to fight using jiu-jitsu while throwing and defending strikes and implementing strategies in real world situations.

OPEN MAT:

Open Mat is a time designated to learn from and with your teammates with no technique instruction, through rolling or drilling technique. All belt levels welcome, all academies welcome! We require no drop-in fee for open mat but request a waiver signature at the door.
